Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand sculpture on Nabakalebar at Puri beach 

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a sand sculpture on Nabakalebar at Puri beach of Odisha on Saturday.  He has sculpted 6ft high of four darus with three idols that is lord Jagannath, lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Sudarshan with a message “Nabakalebar”. He has used about 7 to 8 tons of sand and also some colour sand to creat this sculpture. Tomorrow the first step of Nabakalebar will begin that is banajaga Yatra.  On this occasion I have created this sculpture. Students of my sand art institute join hand with me to complete this sculpture. Before I had created a sand sculpture on Nabakalebar at New York travel fair and also in other different places. During this period of Nabakalebar, I will create different sand sculptures on different occasion. So far Padma awarded sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has participated in more than 50 international sand sculpture championships and festivals around the World and won many prizes for our country..
